The Easy Way to Lose 10 Pounds

While there isn’t really an “easy” way to lose ten pounds, it definitely isn’t quite as hard as some people may think. The majority of people think that one would have to go to the gym every day for at least five times a week for the rest of their life in order to lose and maintain a healthy and slim weight. In reality, this just isn’t true at all. The biggest thing in regards to weight loss, besides getting some type of exercise of course, is a healthy and well thought-out diet.

Another misconception is that one will have to be on an apple skin and steamed raisins with lettuce diet for the rest of their life to maintain a slim weight. The reality is so far from this it’s ridiculous. Yes, you’re going to have to make changes to your diet, but you really could keep the same diet you have now but with several significant tweaks. Instead of two donuts and a coffee in the morning, why not have a whole-grain multi-fiber bagel with a low fat cream cheese, and either a smoothie or some fresh fruit juice? Not only is this a much healthier option, but more importantly, it is going to effectively fill you up until lunch. You won’t need to have another unhealthy snack come 10:30 am or so because you’ll be sufficiently filled up as it is.

When lunchtime rolls around, kick the cheeseburger and fries with soda to the curb. Instead, get a chicken sandwich with a side salad, a cup of fruit and a bottle of water. Just as delicious but significantly lower in calories and higher in vitamins and other nutrients your body needs. For dinner, instead of pasta with meat sauce and garlic bread, why not grill up a nice piece of salmon with some zucchini and summer squash? That might not sound very filling, but if you get a big enough piece of salmon you should be good to go.

Since you ate so well for the entire day, don’t go thinking you have to go and skip dessert in order to cap off the night healthy. There are PLENTY of healthy dessert alternatives in lieu of five scoops of ice cream with whipped cream and a couple of Oreos. Have you ever had warm apple or cherry cobbler with ONE scoop of low fat vanilla ice cream on top? It’s like culinary heaven! And the best part is that you can enjoy it because you’ll know that you ate healthy all day – even though you never had to sacrifice on taste.
