It’s been a debate that is old as perhaps the act of exercising to lose weight itself. Is cardio or weight training more effective for weight loss?

While everyone is different, cardio is most certainly more effective and a lot easier for those looking to lose weight. In many instances, combining weight loss and cardio would yield double the results, however, for the most part; many people who are looking to lose weight are inexperienced when it comes to exercising, so there’s really no need to introduce weight training until much later – especially when one is just trying to lose weight.

Something as simple as jogging or even walking is enough in the way of cardio to lose weight as well. There’s absolutely no need at all to hop on a treadmill and begin doing three-minute sprint intervals so that you won’t be able to walk correctly for the next few days. It’s absolute overkill and is completely unnecessary.

Some light cardio combined with the act of trying to take the stairs instead of the elevator and other minor lifestyle changes is usually just what the doctor ordered (literally) in the interests of losing weight. As long as you also stick to a somewhat reasonable weight loss diet and make sure you aren’t eating too much before you go to bed, you should begin to see results fairly quickly. Just remember that you’re going to reap what you sow, and the more work and effort you put into losing weight in regards to your diet and cardio, the more you’re going to actually lose.

No one has EVER said or even attempted to say that losing weight was easy. However, you do need to realize that it really isn’t that difficult as it’s cracked up to be. You’re going to need to do your part for sure, but as long as you put in the work and stick to a schedule with discipline, you should turn out just fine (or thinner, rather).

Just schedule some light cardio and a healthier, much lower in fat and junk food diet, and you’ll be well on your way to a slimmer waistline and happier lifestyle!

It’s a common misconception that you have to do backbreaking exercises in order to lose weight. The opposite of this is true. In fact, you can lose weight with exercising that you probably didn’t even know was exercising in the first place! Yes, that’s right! Intrigued? Well, let’s get right on into it then…

For some strange reason, people seem to think that they have to sprint and kill themselves on a treadmill in order to burn the calories and get the exercise needed in order for them to lose weight. This is just incorrect. In fact, you don’t even really have to run at all. You can jog or even just walk and still get just as much results.

Just because everyone else is going to the gym doesn’t mean that you have to either. Whether you decide to walk or jog, why not map out a route around your neighborhood and enjoy the scenery and peacefulness of it all while losing weight at the same time? This way, it won’t really feel or seem like work and you may very well begin to look forward to your calm, soothing walk around town each day.

Another misconception is that you have to exercise everyday in order to lose weight. This isn’t true either. You really don’t even have to map it out at all. Just make a promise to yourself that no matter where you go at work or anywhere else, you’ll always take the stairs instead of the elevator. Unless of course you have to go to the 102nd floor of an office building or something – but even then you could tough it out and take the stairs if you were motivated enough.

Parking a bit further away in the parking lot at the supermarket or other stores is another good way to get an extra bit of walking worked into your day. If you have the money for it, one of the new and upcoming trends in exercising is to somehow hook your computer up to a treadmill and walk at a leisurely pace whenever you use it. We all know we certainly use the computer enough these days to make that investment worthwhile!

Something even as simple as doing a bit of jumping jacks or sit ups in between television shows on commercials could do wonders for your waistline. The important thing is to not get too serious about it and look for everyday opportunities to get a bit of fun and efficient exercise worked in. There’s absolutely no need to pay a small fortune each month for a membership at a gym when you can do just as much at home or around town.
